During 2007 the CSDA Finance Corporation continued its 20 year tradition of providing expert professional finance services to special districts, covering all of their major requirements from items such as fire trucks, computers and equipment for community playgrounds, to transactions like land acquisition, planning, design, construction and operation of entire water filtration and wastewater treatment plants. Examples of this diversity in 2007 include the funding of a fire truck and associated apparatus in the amount of $150,000 for the Orcutt Fire Protection District and upgrades to the Montecito Sanitary District in the amount of almost $15,000,000.

The CSDA Finance Corporation Board of Directors, staff and consultants are planning ways to bring our services to many more members in 2008. Among the activities considered are:
1. Closer coordination and communication with special districts statewide by direct contact, liaison with CSDA’s network of 13 chapters, feature stories and advertising in California Special District magazine, representation at other association tradeshows, marketing surveys and research relevant to your financial needs.
2. Evaluation and implementation of new financial services programs.
3. Reviewing staffing needs.

In order to be fully successful we need your help in identifying your financing needs and allowing us to bid on your projects when appropriate. I want to thank the many districts that have already utilized our services in the past, allowing us to finance a billion dollars in special district projects. Our continuing goal is to customize each transaction so it is a winner to those we serve and to perpetuate our unblemished record of having never suffered a default on any project we have financed.
